Forming part of the City of Leicester’s “urban area”, Oadby lies 3 ½ miles South East of the city on the main A6 with the pub sitting on London Road (formally “Turnpike Lane”). The Borough has a population of circa 56,000 and a history going back to 550AD when it was an Anglian Settlement and myths have it that the area is said to be the site of at least one of King Alfred the Greats, battles.
