
Location
A stone built pub on Carrs Road on the outskirts of the Pennine village of Marsden. Marsden is a small “mill town” now mainly residential. The village features extensively in “Last of the Summer Wine” and “Where the Heart Is”. The recently reopened canal terminates at the nearby Standedge Tunnel, now a popular tourist attraction. Marsden attracts walker and mountain bikers and hosts an increasingly popular jazz festival every October. The pub is situated amongst housing on the ouskirts of the village, a few minutes walk from the main circuit.
Trading Area & Offer
The central doorway leads into a porch way, which leads to an open plan bar lounge with three distinct trading areas. To the right of the door is a lounge with a pool area leading off to the back. The bar servery is to the left of the doorway and features an open fire and seated area adjacent. A small trade kitchen leads off the bar. The domestic accommodation is to the first floor and features three bedrooms, a lounge and a domestic kitchen. There is an enclosed beer garden to the rear of the premises, accessed through the car park to the left hand side of the Old New Inn. This car park is sufficient for approximately 15 cars, there is also ample car parking on the roadside. The front of the pub has sufficient space for at least two benches for outside drinking.
